Phase I Training
The Office of Problem Gambling (OPG), in partnership with the UCLA Gambling Studies Program (UGSP), is currently recruiting licensed therapists to participate in the California Gambling Education and Treatment Services (CalGETS).
To become an authorized provider in the CalGETS, therapists must attend state-funded training focusing on the treatment of problem and pathological gamblers. Training will consist of one 7.5 hour online training course and three on-site 7.5 hour training days, providing the opportunity to obtain up to 30 Continuing Education Units (CE units).
Therapists who meet eligibility criteria may apply to the UGSP for admission to the training; however, due to limited space, training admissions will be on a first come, first served basis. CalGETS participants will not be charged a registration fee for training. Participants will be responsible for all travel and accommodation expenses.
OPG/UGSP holds Phase I Training periodically. Exact location and dates are listed below. Applicants can request to be placed on a waiting list by completing the Phase I Training Waiting List form. Applicants also have the option of completing a CalGETS Provider Application. To complete the application please send all requested supporting documentation including Section E on a separate sheet of paper and a copy of the applicants insurance policy. Waiting List Forms and Applicants should be faxed to 310-825-0301 OR emailed to UGSP@mednet.ucla.edu
